top anti-aging secret: green tea

benefits of green tea

I’m lucky. I am a very keen tea drinker and really enjoy my multiple cups of tea a day. I discovered herbal and green teas 20 years ago and have since enjoyed these teas. I always felt they were good for me, but only a few years ago did I discover the enormous benefits green tea can have for anti-aging.

Why is green tea so good for anti-aging?

As green tea is not fermented like black tea, it still contains active constituents. Green tea contains a wide variety of vitamins, minerals and anti-aging antioxidants. Most importantly for anti-aging, is that green tea contains polyphenols.

Why are polyphenols good for anti-aging?

Polyphenols are powerful antioxidants and very effective at destroying free radicals. So in essence it protects the cells in the body. The overall effects of polyphenols and green teas are still studied but it is widely believed that green tea has many health benefits. If you want to know more about how green tea and antioxidants protect your body, then have a quick look at below video.

So what if I don’t like green tea?

Have you given it enough time? I am personally a big fan of green tea, especially Japanese tea. I find it very refreshing and easy to drink. But if you are not keen on the taste of green tea, then it is still possible to get the benefits from it. (Even if you do like to drink green tea, you may not want to drink it all day). To get the maximum benefit from green tea it is recommended you consume about 300=400 mg of polyphenols daily. One cup would contain about 50-100 mg. For this reason many companies are now providing green tea supplements which contain the daily recommended dose.
